1. The Zabeel Park

2. The Al Safa Park

Opened way back in the year 1975, the Al Safa Park is one of Dubai’s oldest. Spanning all of 64 hectares, the park is a lovely place for an outing with family and friends on weekends. This beautiful park is on the Sheikh Zayed Road as well and it’s surrounded by the Al Wasi and the Al Hadiqa streets. Ever since then, there’s been no looking back and people have flocked to this beautiful patch of green in the heart of Dubai. Enjoy a ride on a cute toy train with your family after a splash in the pool. The park also offers free barbeque services making it ideal for a family picnic.

4. The Creek Side Park in Bur Dubai by the Dubai Creek

Dubai’s second largest park is located on the banks of the Dubai Creek. The Creek Side Park features botanical gardens that showcase an exotic variety of flora. This park with its lawns and a large waterside is like an oasis of serenity in the heart of Dubai. The Creek Side Park also has play areas for children and the kids have a wonderful day out here. Located on the lovely Jumeirah Beach, the Jumeirah Beach Park is frequented by Dubai locals on weekends. Spread over 106 hectares, this lush green park boasts of as many as five laid back beaches where you can enjoy relaxed evening walks. The lovely manicured lawns are breathtakingly beautiful and the rustle of the tall palm trees are a sweet reminder from Dubai of its relaxed and laid back incarnation. The turquoise waters of the sea washing up against a lovely beach of white sand create amazing scenery. The views of the stunning Burj Al Arab, the luxurious hotel shaped like a ship’s sail are sure to make you reach out for your camera in a flash.

6. Al Barsha Pond Park

The Al Barsha Park is slightly low-key compared to the others and that’s exactly why we picked it. If you are looking for a spot to escape from the city and sink into a book, this is the place for it. The lovely pond (a rarity in Dubai) in the middle of the park lined by solemn palm trees and lines of flowers give the Al Barsha Park a very calming serenity. There’s a 1.5 km running track where you’ll spot a few fitness conscious youngsters warming up for the week ahead. There’s a children’s play zone as well to keep the kids happy.

The Green Planet brings you a lush green tropical forest right in the heart of Dubai. You find yourself in the lap of nature at this wonder of modern day science.
