SG Arrival Card for UAE Residents: How to Fill It and Common Mistakes

UAE residents preparing travel documents for arrival and immigration checks in Singapore.

Singapore is a thriving country where many UAE residents visit annually for business, leisure, and education. Moreover, the SG Arrival Card for UAE residents is a mandatory requirement before entering Singapore. One thing one needs to make sure of is that the SG Arrival Card is not a visa. So, if you are also planning a trip to Singapore, then completing the SG Arrival Card in advance ensures a smooth, fast, and hassle-free experience. Read this guide as it shows how to apply for SG Arrival Card online.

SG Arrival Card for UAE Residents: What It Is and Who Needs It

SG Arrival Card (or SGAC) is the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority’s electronic arrival card. Includes an Electronic Health Declaration. ICA stopped using the paper card from 27 March 2020. It isn’t a visa, and ICA indicates that there is no charge for submission. Singapore Arrival Card for UAE nationals is exactly the same as for all other travellers.

Who Must Submit

Most travellers must submit an SG Arrival Card before entering Singapore. Exceptions include those not cleared for immigration and those who are residents who enter through the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints. The UAE resident who landed at Changi is not exempt. Each family member must be included in a valid SG Arrival Card submission

The Visa Is a Separate Step

Our Singapore visa service lists AED 550, covering the visa fee, service charge and document handling. UAE residents need a passport valid for six months and a copy of their UAE residence visa. You also need a photo, flight tickets, a hotel booking, three months of bank statements and an itinerary. Visa rules depend on your passport nationality, not on living in the UAE. The visa processing time is 10-15 working days. The Singapore Arrival Card for UAE residents does not replace the visa.

How to Apply for SG Arrival Card Online, Step by Step

When to Submit

Apply for it within three days before arrival. For example, if you arrive on 30 October, submission opens on 28 October. You cannot file weeks ahead. Singapore is four hours ahead of the UAE, so an evening flight from Dubai may land on the next calendar day there. Count your three days from the Singapore arrival date.

Where to Submit

There are two official routes. The SGAC e-Service on the ICA website works in any browser, and the free MyICA Mobile app works on iOS and Android. Start at the ICA SG Arrival Card page. If you wonder how to apply for the SG Arrival Card online, start there, because ICA says it does not endorse commercial services that charge a fee. Submission itself is free of charge.

Fill the Form Step by Step

1st Step: Open the ICA e-Service or the App.

2nd Step: Fill in the information from the passport as it is printed.

3rd Step: Add your contact details, arrival date, flight number and first Singapore address. Fill out the health declaration afterwards.

4th Step: Send and save the e-mail invitation that ICA sends you.

Note: Mention your date of birth and nationality on the form as well. Also, do not close your booking and passport while typing.

Use the MyICA App

Our travel apps for Singapore guide calls MyICA Mobile the official ICA app. ICA confirms, it can save your profile for later trips. The guide also names Google Maps, MyTransport.SG, SimplyGo, Grab and the Changi App. It advises keeping your hotel address, bookings and flight details accessible without mobile data.

Groups and Families

ICA’s group submission is for people travelling to Singapore together for one trip. Use it for family or friends on the same flight and itinerary. It cannot be reused for another trip. If one traveller arrives on a different date, file separately.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

The following are the common mistakes that you need to avoid while filling out the form:

Details That Don’t Match the Passport

Type names and passport numbers exactly as printed. One wrong digit can send you to a manual counter. However, don’t forget to write the correct postal code in the address. So, before submitting, double-check all the information mentioned.

Submitting Too Early or Too Late

You can submit the SG Arrival Card within 3 days (including the day of your arrival) before your arrival in Singapore. Submitting it too early is not allowed, while submitting it too late may cause delays during immigration clearance. To avoid last-minute issues, complete the form within the permitted timeframe and double-check all your details before submission.

Paying a Scam Site

ICA says submission is free. Search results are full of lookalike pages that charge a fee. If a site asks for payment, close it. Use only the ICA e-Service or the MyICA app.

Health Declaration Errors

If false declarations are made, they can be prosecuted under the Infectious Diseases Act. Tell the truth about each health question. The Update SGAC feature is designed to be used if your health changes after you submit. Double-check answers before flying.
