Suwaidi Pearls

Dubai and Abu Dhabi are among the most famous among them. Millions of tourists visit these 2 Emirates every year from all over the world to catch a glimpse of iconic buildings and opportunities for a shopping extravaganza. However, there are lots of other gems that are not to be missed in the country. Ras Al Khaimah doesn’t attract hordes of tourists like its more famous counterparts. But there are excellent sites to be seen here. One such gem lies amongst the places to visit in Ras Al Khaimah. It goes by the name of Suwaidi Pearl Farm. Let us learn more about Suwaidi Pearls.

About Suwaidi Pearls

The United Arab Emirates consists of 7 emirates. Suwaidi Pearls is located in the fishing village of Al Rams in the foothills of the kingly Hajar Mountains, the Suwaidi Pearl farm offers you an exquisite opportunity to explore a key aspect of the country’s past pearling industry.

For many decades, Ras Al Khaimah has been at the forefront of the UAE’s pearl cultivation activity. Fishermen would dive deep into the designated zones to collect oysters that would provide them with the pearls. The port of Ras Al Khaimah was among the busiest in the region owing to this activity.

Suwaidi Pearls was set up by a local entrepreneur named Abdullah Al Suwaidi in 2005 to honour the memory of his grandfather who used to be an important pearl farmer of this region. Its doors were opened to the public to allow the latter to gain insights into one of the major cultural heritages of the land, the pearl cultivation industry. Visitors can go on a 6 Emirates Tour to explore the other emirates of UAE. Those emirates also have a lot of cultural places to visit.
