Rules To Follow At Dubai Airport

If you are going to visit Dubai soon, there are certain eligibility requirements you need to provide at the airport itself. These requirements if not fulfilled can ban your entry in Dubai. Of course, nobody would like to cancel their vacation plans, that too at the airport. So, go through the basic prerequisites to travel to Dubai.

A Minimum Amount of Cash/ Credit

To enter Dubai, a traveller must essentially carry an amount minimum of 3000 Dh cash or credit. This can also be in any other currency but the amount should be equivalent to the said money in AED.

Proof of Accommodation

It is a must for any traveller to provide at the airport proof of accommodation in Dubai. This proof can be your hotel bookings, address and ID proof of family or friends you are visiting or any other valid proof.

Confirmed Return Air Tickets

A visitor must possess a return ticket from Dubai. This ensures the timely departure of a visitor within their visa validity. So, it is necessary to present your return tickets at the airport to get easy entry into Dubai.

Etiquettes for Tourists

Once you are in Dubai, there are certain things you must take care of. The most important ones here are how you dress and how you behave in Dubai. The rules you must follow are also applicable to the other 6 emirates of the UAE

Dress Code for Dubai

Make sure to dress modestly in Dubai. The United Arab Emirates follows the Sharia laws because of Islamic culture. Thus, it is important to respect the tradition and dress accordingly. That doesn’t mean you have to wear a burqa though. One can wear anything longer than knee length and something that covers their shoulders. Swimwear is allowed only on private beaches and pools. One must cover their head at religious places.

Never Swear, Smoke or Drink in Public

When we say it, we mean it. The government of UAE is strict about public misconduct which includes smoking in public, consumption of alcohol in public, drinking and driving instances or use of swear words in public. It might be a norm for tourists from several countries but in Dubai, it is strictly prohibited.

Loud Music In Public places

Although one might wonder if this is true or not, but it is true for Dubai. You can not play loud music in public places at all. In UAE, due to its Islamic culture, it is not allowed to play music out loud. So, if you are planning to dance to loud music in front of any tourist place in Dubai, you must refrain from doing so.

Special Rules For Ramadan

Although not many people visit Dubai in the holy month of Ramadan. However, there are several things you can enjoy during Ramadan. Many fairs, night markets and festivals are celebrated during the holy month in Dubai. At these times, it is strictly prohibited to eat, chew or even drink water in public places. So, one must take these things into consideration before visiting Dubai during Ramadan.
